Streaming QuickTime video content in MPEG4 audio and video format is viewable across many different platforms, including Windows, Mac and various Unix systems. Quicktime MPEG4 streaming video is viewable in different player software such as the Windows Media Player, the Real Networks RealPlayer, Winamp, Xine and others.

Creating a streaming video is easily done with QuickTime Pro. QT Pro is necessary, as it includes 'hinting tracks' in the exported video. These hinting tracks carry information that is needed by the streaming QT server software to properly stream the video. QT Pro automatically includes the hinting tracks as part of creating the video. Apple provides a complete set of tutorials on their web site to guide you through the process.

We recommend starting with a total video streaming rate of around 100 kbps. This does require a broadband (DSL, cable, or T1) Internet connection to be properly viewable.

When the video is ready, you only then need to upload it to your special FTP account for streaming video. To obtain a QT FishNet FTP login, current clients need only contact us to request the account. We do not charge additional basic fees for this service; you only pay for any additional bandwidth that you may consume above your account limits.
